1. A Tibetan Mastiff has given birth to a huge litter of 22 puppies in Xinjiang, western China, but sadly five died. To give the surviving 17 the best chance the dog’s owner Guo Qingcai and his wife are helping to care for the puppies around the clock. Su Zhanqiang, vice president of Xinjiang Agricultural University’s animal hospital, said it’s rare for a Tibetan Mastiff to have a litter of 22 puppies, with the normal amount being around four or five. Earlier this month a Tibetan Mastiff called Emperor went up for sale at a trade fair in China for a whopping 10 million Yuan (a million pounds).
